The history of The Three Tuns in Gateshead’s Sheriff Hill is linked to its current 1923 building, constructed by Newcastle Breweries and designed by a noted pub architect. The site has a longer history as a pub, with a building on the site recorded as early as 1782. Though there may have been earlier pubs on the site, the current pub was built in the early 20th century and is noted for its red brick, timber windows, and original features, including a main bar and music / concert room
